WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50 Features and Benefits

WebSphere® DataPower Integration Blade XI50B, and WebSphere DataPower Integration XI50z for zEnterprise are IBM’s security and integration gateway appliance, delivering common message transformation, integration, and routing functions in a network device, cutting operational costs and improving performance in a blade form-factor. WebSphere DataPower Integration Blade XI50B and XI50z provides all the same functions as the WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI52 but available in a blade form-factor.

WebSphere DataPower Integration Blade XI50B and XI50z offer a number of capabilities and benefits to strengthen business connectivity with partners and customers, but also between internal organizations.

Increased business agility

• Reduce time-to-market for SOA integrations with specialized devices.
• Protect corporate assets through improved Security.
• Improve Quality of Service through Service Governance.

Higher cost-optimization

• Less power usage – up to 35% more energy efficient than rack mount servers depending on use case.
• Lower maintenance and operational costs through shared chassis.
• Reduced integration costs with wire-speed mediation, protocol bridging, transport mediation and content-based message routing.

Latest NextGen technology

• Parse, filter, transform, route, and enforce access-control messages of disparate format at wire speed.
• 5th generation of xml processing (achieve up to 10x for XML Parsing and Validation ).
• NEBS ready: compliant with Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS) requirements.

Centralized manageability

• Hardware & network management and monitoring with “BladeCenter Advanced Management Module”.
• Single console management monitor for multiple blades.
• Datacenter consolidation reduces overall footprint.

Higher performance

• High speed chassis back plane optimizes communication between blades or actual servers.
• Highest Crypto: includes higher performing crypto card for increased security.

Hardware Security Module

A FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified hardware security module (HSM) is available as an embedded, factory installed option. The HSM provide tamper proof storage of private key material used for cryptographic operations performed on the appliance.
